Take a seat on our Patient Panel to help influence blood pressure care.
In 2021 Blood Pressure UK set up its first Pressure Panel to help the charity shape our work on influencing blood pressure care in the UK.
We had a fantastic response, and the feedback we received from the panel is already helping us to shape our work in 2022 and beyond. These are some of the key areas the panel want the charity to look at:
- Helping to reach more people unaware they have high blood pressure
- Advice about diet in reducing high blood pressure
- Advice about exercise in reducing high blood pressure
- Experience of treatment
- Experience with GP’s, Pharmacists, health professionals and managing your blood pressure at home.
Our next stage is to dig deeper with the panel on those themes, so we can use their feedback to shape our wider work.
Could you join our Patient Panel?
Whilst we’ve had a fantastic response to recruitment to the Patient Panel, there are still some areas where we are underrepresented and would welcome people to sign up. These include:
- People from the Black and South Asian community
- People from Scotland and Northern Ireland
You are an expert in your own experience, and sharing your perspectives with us can help guide our work influencing blood pressure care in the UK.
The panel will be made up of a small group of people affected by high blood pressure who are willing to share feedback every now and then, for example, by questionnaire every few months.
It’s very important to us that our work and recommendations involve the experience of people living with high blood pressure. We received lots of valuable insights in our Focus on the Future Survey in 2020 and we’d like to make this kind of feedback a central part of our work.
