Seek the people in your community who have high blood pressure and don’t know it.
Find information on how to run a blood pressure testing event at any time of the year to suit you if you can't host an event as part of Know Your Numbers! Week in September.
Finding people with high blood pressure
Know Your Numbers! is Blood Pressure UK's flagship campaign, which raises awareness of the risks of high blood pressure. Volunteers offer free blood pressure checks in their communities to reach those who have high blood pressure and don’t know it.
The highlight of the campaign happens every September, in Know Your Numbers! Week, the nation's largest annual blood pressure testing and awareness event.
By encouraging people to get a check, they can get the help and support they need to look after their blood pressure, preventing strokes and heart attacks.
How you can take part
If you are a health or fitness professional
If you take blood pressures as part of your role, you can take part by offering free blood pressure checks locally. You could host an event whenever it suits you throughout the year. We have lots of resources to help you. Email us at email@example.com with any questions or to order resources.
Our comprehensive Resource Packs are now available for your own blood pressure testing events throughout the year. We will provide posters and balloons to set up an eye-catching display, as well as useful resources such as referral cards and information leaflets. You can set up an event wherever you choose, in your GP surgery, hospital, pharmacy or library.
If you’re not a health or fitness professional
There are many ways you can take part and make a huge difference. For example, you could organise a Pressure Station at work for Know Your Numbers! Week, encourage your friends and family to measure their blood pressure at home using a home blood pressure monitor, or go to the pharmacy or GP surgery for a blood pressure check, spread the word on social media or raise funds.
